Concepts
The concepts presented here are entries from a glossary, a collective work still in development, to be published at the conclusion of the international Antropocênica series. We envisage 100 entries, of which we present here some of the principal terms already drafted, with the aim of exposing to the public the ideas mobilised within this collective transdisciplinary exercise that give meaning to it. Each term is authored by participants in the series and by people specially invited to collaborate.
In elaborating this glossary, there exists no pretension whatsoever to (re)define what such words or suggested neologisms ought to be, but rather what they may be, arising from free thought within the specific scope of the essential questions reflected upon throughout the series. There is no commitment to unanimity or consensus amongst the glossary's authors regarding the ideal formulation of each concept, no pretension or disposition towards univocal or absolute truths, but rather openings to thoughts that accord with the transgressive enquiries and provocations engendered by Antropocênica, even should occasional dissonances and divergent understandings emerge. Hence distinct elaborations may arise—and therefore distinct concepts—for one and the same term.
Authorship of each concept is indicated by the author's initials, in brackets, beside the listed term. Dark grey underlined text includes links to the corresponding alphabetical index or term within the glossary; light grey italicised text includes links to related content available online.
